maddening design features

On the positive side, the location is nice--walking distance to restaurants, target, mall, restaurants, library, several employers; noise control is pretty good, security is pretty good, maintenance workers are friendly and helpful.
But, there's insufficient storage in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. My dishes are in the laundry room because those are the only cabinets wide enough for them. Given that the laundry room doors are blocked when the frige/freezer or dishwasher doors are open, it's a pain. There's no pantry or linen closet, the cabinetry in the bathrooms is sparse relative to the bathroom size. There's no overhead lighting in the bedrooms, so you need lots of lamps. I could go on...
The fact that the building is only a few years old makes these design features all the more bizarre.
The other part I simply cannot accept is the price of this area of the country. I have lived in similar cities with regard to size and cultural features in different parts of the country for 1/3 the price. Were I paying 800 a month for this place, I probably wouldn't be as annoyed with the issues discussed above, but paying almost 30K per year for this place is madness.
Finally, everytime the garbage is collected, broken glass and other small bits of debris are left in the entrance to the parking garage and not cleared promptly. I'm sure if it hasn't punctured a tire yet, it will eventually.

I visited this property with intent to lease. Viewed a 2 bed / 2 bath. The full-size washer/dryer in unit is a definite plus, however, the counter space in the kitchen is definitely limited. There is a $500 "ammenity fee" which they are currently waiving. Also, if you require a 2nd parking spot, they have 2 options - a "fulltime" spot for $150/month (!!!) or a "commuter" spot for $75/month - which seemed strange. Anyway. The last note of interest was that the closets were huge - almost mini-rooms themselves. I would have liked the bedrooms to have been bigger relative to the closets.
