When I first moved into Avalon Gates 3 years ago, from the outside it appeared to be well-kept and a wonderful place for a single, young, professional to live. Well that soon changed in the three years that I lived there. The pool is like being at a public pool. You want a nice relaxing day at the pool, think again because you will have a headache within minutes from all the screaming children. Last year, they had to close it down on numerous occasions because of kids doing their business in it. I saw kids nearly every day down there with diapers on swimming in the pool. They have the rules posted next to the gate but no one abides by them and the Avalon staff never enforces them. The quality of living at Avalon has deteriorated in the last three years as I believe Avalon is accepting section 8 people in there so they know they can receive their outrageous rent amounts from the government. No one else can afford to live there. The rents are ridiculous and for the amount that you pay, you'd think that you'd be living in a luxary environment which at most times felt like living in the ghetto. And don't get me started about security deposits. You won't get it back. Avalon puts these cheap rugs in your apartment that stain on the drop of a dime and charge you nearly $600 to replace it when you move out. The countertops stain easily and you are also charged for that. I spent days cleaning the apartment when I left and they charged me $80 for kitchen cleaning. Whatever was left in the kitchen was their cheap stained countertops that nothing could clean. If you are an average joe and want a nice place to live, DO NOT choose Avalon because they will screw you in every way that they can so they can suck every single penny out of your wallet!
