I have been living in briar knoll for about 6 months. So far we haven't had any problems. I like that the windows are large so that a lot of light is let into the apartment. The window sills are also very wide, so we have decorated ours with some nice plants which makes the space seem brighter. I live in a two bedroom w/ my boyfriend and his brother. We have the master bedroom and a half bath attached, which is great. There are walk-in closets in each of the bedrooms as well as what we use as a "cleaning closet," a coat closet, and a walk-in storage space where the boiler is, but there is still pleanty of storage space around it. The kitchen area is pretty small but, the equipment is in great working condition, The gas stove looked brand new when we moved in, and we havent had any problems w/ our regfidgerator or dishwasher.
I really enjoy having a quaint little pond right outside my window, and a walking trail. The bullfrogs make a lot of noise, but you can't really stop nature. There is surprisingly a lot of nature around actually. We've spotted rabbits, frogs, really pretty birds, and my boyfriend claims he saw a deer.
They also allow small to medium sized dogs, and cats here which is uncommon, so if you really like pets Briar Knoll is a great choice.
The only things that i wish could be different are the storage and laundry facilities, and the ventalation in the bathrooms. Each tenant is provided with a storage space, but it is usually located in the basement of another building, which is pretty inconvenient b/c they dont have storage space in every building. The same goes for the laundry. Personally I chose to just do my laundry at the laundromat down the street, b/c the facilities at the apartments are a little dingey and not the easiest to access. The bathrooms for some reason were built w/ no fan, so mildew accumulates more quickly, so unless you keep up on cleaning your showers (and walls,) religiously you will end up with sticky orangey mildew that looks almost like wax dripping from your walls.
I was hoping the neighbors would be more friendly. Every now and then someone will wave and smile, but it has been difficult trying to find young people to become friends with.
The people who work in the office are always friendly, and the maintainence responds quickly to calls.
Overall great place to live, the only thing that could make it even more fabulous would be all of this, but for a little less money.
