Being a mixed couple I don't know if it was racial, hopefully it was because I was dressed in jeans and a T-shirt. At least then it would be financial (assumed-as a Legacy Carrier Airline manager I like to dress down on the weekend) discrimination. Either way my wife and I entered the leasing office to find the agent on the phone telling the caller that she only had one particular style "one bedroom unit" available for July 1. It appeared the caller wasn't interested. Although we were interested in a two bedroom unit I thought I would inquire about the 1 bedroom. She asked what we were looking for and I said a 1 or two bedroom. She asked for when and I stated July 1. She quickly responded, "we don't have a 1 bedroom open for July and our two bedroom units start at $1,400. That does not included utilities" she said in a "I am sorry" tone. I responded by telling her I was fully aware of that and financially capable. She then rushed to show us a two bedroom. I had to stop her to ask if she needed us to fill out some information or copy my out of state ID. "Oh, Yeah" she said stopping to do it but she never even started this task. We followed her to a two bedroom unit where he quickly showed us around telling us not to walk through it too much as it was ready for move in and rented. The old furniture depressions were still in the carpet. It hadn't been cleaned. She rushed us out the door and told us to call if we were interested. She drove away.
The place is OVERPRICED. If you want a better deal go to Windshere Terrace. Same price range MUCH better housing and an awesome staff.

Your claim has been investigated and is without warrant. You may have overheard the leasing agent discussing one bedroom availability at Brownstone, our sister community in Manchester, which is leased through our office. Also, our two bedroom rents start at $1,295, not $1400. As for not having you fill out a guest card, I'm looking at your guest card now (the name matches the email address jamie.c.shatinsky@delta.com). You came in from Henderson Nevada and the showing occurred June 3rd. We don't care about race, creed, color, nationality, religion, familial status or any other such factors in renting. Our community is about as diverse as you can get with residents of just about every race, nationality, religion, etc. As long as your money is green, and you meet our credit and income guidelines, you can rent here. We're sorry there was some sort of misunderstanding and hope Windshere Terrace works out well for you ;^) - The Mansions

When the business model is solely "As long as your money is green, and you meet our credit and income guidelines, you can rent here.", you can understand why the management would be ignorant and unmotivated. Customer service should always be the first priority, no matter what product or service you're selling. Just looking at the "green" when a person comes through the door sets the business up for failure. Sounds like management needs a real shake-up!

First of all, The fact that management comes to this website to dispute customer / potential customer reviews immediately blows any credit they have towards being a worthy establishment. I'm sure I make more than enough to meet their minimum requirements for housing, but one thing I can not tolerate in this world today is people who think money makes others more or less of a man or woman. I also don't like how the management personel signed their comment "The Mansions", sounds like they think quite highly of themselves for no apparent reason as people have had nothing good to say about them. If your education lands you selling apartment space, you need to re-evaluate your ego-inflated personality. -TDP

if you really feel as though you have been discriminated against and are serious, then you should contact the state or hire a lawyer...they HAVE to abide by Fair Housing Laws or can be sued

You know, you all should just shut up, go to work, stop bitching about how the world is so unfair because my color isn't what I would like it to be. I am sick and tired of all you whiney -------s who want to blame every one else for your shortfalls in life. Just be glad you weren't born a poor woman in Iraq or some other middle eastern country. Because I'm sure that you aren't whipped like a dog on a daily basis.
