My husband and I moved into Mount Vernon Apartments after we were married and stayed for three years. We liked it very much.

The grounds are immaculate, kept up beautifully. Office staff is friendly and considerate. I do feel that the maintenance guys are overworked, however I can say that they are extremely friendly, prompt, and do great work. This is a VERY safe neighborhood. You could walk around in the middle of the night with no fear. It's in a decent area with everything beautiful and country to the east and everything handy and suburban 5 minutes to the west. It's s very quiet community with young families, retirees, and everything in between. Lots of gorgeous old trees and green space.

The buildings: Okay, the buildings are not spectacular. They're old, and while in relatively good repair, could use a little updating. Appliances are older, and may not always work flawlessly... but hey, what does in life' The buildings are always clean, with a clean and safe laundry area, and if something does break or wear out in your place, it will be fixed or replaced very quickly.

I pay a very reasonable rent (for Connecticut, anyway) for my 2-bedroom. It's the BEST DEAL you are going to find in Vernon OR Manchester at this price. If you want private entry or a washer, your next step is a $1400 yuppified monstrosity somewhere else. For this amount anywhere else you are not going to find anything as clean, safe, and quiet as MVA.

I'll miss it here when we leave next month!!
