We came into Mt. Vernon with great expectations. We had many family live here in the past, but unfortunately our experience hasn't been great.

Currently, we're on first name basis with the maintenance crew.

First week here, the toilet flusher broke off, and our garbage disposal clogged. It got fixed just fine. For a bit, at least.

Our garbage disposal did clog again. Did they fix it' Well, I guess you can say that... they removed it with no replacement.

The main power circuit for our apartment also went out. We lost power one night, randomly, and had to wait 2 HOURS for someone to get here to check things out. He told us it was fixed, but 2 days later the same exact thing happened. Turns out the maintainence guys needed to call an electrician. The part was so old that it isn't made anymore! It took 3 weeks for the electrician to finally get it and fix it.

3 weeks of being unsure of whether your power will work or not. It's fun.

The carpet also began coming up in the living room. We've got two cats that wouldn't help the matter, so of course we needed to call maintainence. What was done' They tacked it down. We probably could've done that.

And now that the "winter months" are hitting us, we can no longer use the air conditioner since they put a cover on it. But it's still 75 degrees out and sweltering in our apartment. If we want to tack up our electricity bill, we should be able to. But, there's the no open window policy too! If it's "cold" outside, and your windows are open, the leasing office will come in and close your windows. If they need to do it more than once, you'll get charged $50 - $100! But there's no line drawn... they don't tell you what's cold and what's not.

We cannot WAIT to move.

And the sad thing is we've been here for 3 months.
