I lived in Vernon Gardens for two years. Since day one I was complaining about my bathtub. After the fist year I started noticing the basement storage area (which was already musty) was getting very moldy. When I went to move out everything in my storage had to be thrown out as it was all covered with a thick coating of mold. Apparently my bathtub was leaking into a different part of the basement and since they never fixed it (even though I asked dozens of times) it became very moldy. My allergies were out of control from the mold, I even developed severe asthma. The maintence man was the laziest person I ever met and the woman in the rental office was not much better. Half of the windows wouldn't open. The bathtub wall eventually collaped in from the water damage and mold, the tiles just fell in. When I went to turn in my keys they were already "fixing" it by covering it with a plastic bath fitter instead of removing the mold and damage. I considered calling the Housing authority. That apartment should have been condemmed.

One of my neighbors (who's lived here for over 15 years) in this complex had a chest x-ray done before a procedure that she had to get done and they found a spot on her lung. It turns out it was mold in her lung. They said its from the air quality in your home.
