I thought it was nice...BUT

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
When we looked at the apartment it was a dream. My roommate and I had always loved the idea of living in a chic urban style mill apartment and we loved the loft style of the one we choose. We had no idea the things to come....
1. Moving the cars in the winter. You have to have your car moved by 9am whenever it snows or they threaten to tow you. When you do move your car, there is no place to move it to and who wants to drive around in a snow storm'' The first time it snowed I obliged this crazy policy and narrowly avoided a four car collision in front of the complex due to icy conditions. NO THANKS!
2. The dog poop is a major problem. It really amazes me how many people allow their dogs to poop in areas where people walk and urinate in the hallways and stairwells, apparently this is one area maintenance does not touch.
3. The walls are very thin. During our first week here we were threatened by our drunken neighbor because we laughed past 10PM. No talking, simply a chuckle and he proceeded to pound on our doorway and threaten to rip our (insert some explitives) heads off. On top of that we have been spoken to by the security people for even having one person visit the apartment(the noise carries into the hallways). On top of that, we were lucky enough to have a neighbor who has a newborn baby who cried ALL NIGHT. Now, I know that one cannot help when a baby cries but the noise carries to the point where it felt as if I was the one who had just had a baby and had her sleeping in bed with me. For a professional in her mid twenties sans kids (and proud of it at this point) this provided me with many sleepless nights and the best birth control ever.
4. PArking. Not only is there not any parking for guests but the parking for tenants is not all that safe. During our second month, my roommates car was broken into. The response of the curteous management' Kids will be kids!
5. And finally there is no telling what types of tenants will be allowed into the building and who they will bring with them. A family moved in down the hall with a teenage partier who dragged friends over who would play in the elevators and hang from the pipes in the hallway. One evening they were so kind as to allow a man into the building who clearly had psychiatric problems. He decided to pull the fire alarm at 2am and when we looked into the hallway to see if there really was cause for alarm...he attempted to push his way into a neighbors apartment because they were "coming to get him". This led into a huge ordeal of evacuating the building pets & kids - all into the snow. NOT FUN. Oh yes, and you can forget making your place homey by hanging things on your doorway...ours got stolen within days. And all this from a locked and "secure" building.
I FELT LIKE I WAS LIVING BACK IN A DORM!!!!
