I heard about this sight from a co-worker and I thought I'd check it out. I can't believe the things that people say that make them sound so stupid!! I have lived here for almost 15 years and with the exception of normal "apartment noise", I have to say that it is by far the best place I've ever rented. I am in my 60's and have rented all my life. I plan to stay here for the rest of it.

What was once a complex in need of major repairs, Southwind is now a very luxurious, clean, well-maintained place. New owners came in about ten years ago and have spent tons of money on improvements like vinyl siding, windows, doors, carpeting, paint, oak crown molding, granite floors in the entrances, new signs, etc. etc!! It seems they add more and more landscaping each year too.

As far as staffing goes, Amanda Nagy is the most professional manager I've ever met and while maintenance people may come and go, she has been here for almost 10 years - so I guarentee she's doing something right! The tenants love her and find her very helpful. The ones who don't like her are the ones who've trashed their apartment or failed to follow normal rules, broke their lease (you know, that LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT) or stopped paying their rent. STUPID!! Duh!! If you are a BAD tenant (and there are alot of you out there), don't expect to blame a management company who is doing the job they were hired to do. No one lives anywhere for free - unless you're still with Mommy and Daddy.

If you want a noise-free environment, BUY A HOUSE! Then you can shovel your own snow, fix your own things and whine to your mortgage company for "charging too much". You think you've got it tough, try putting yourself in an apartment manager's position for a day and put up with stupid people who think they have all the answers. The nice and reasonable and respectable people are the ones who enjoy stress-free living. I know for a fact that my needs are important to this company and they do everything they can (within reason - free rent isn't one of them!) to keep me a happy tenant. And I am.
