A good place to live if you are deaf, dumb and blind

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2000
I found this site when I was looking for a new place to live and just had to put my 2 cents in.
Southwind is one of the most awful places to live. ------ was lazy and outright ignored all of the problems we had with the apartment. If the tenant was someone she liked more, she would not lift a finger. She always said that they would send a notice and that if it did not work she would fine whoever it was that was causing the problems. Did not seem to work because our neighbors next door kept going and going with their stereo.
The guy that lived above us...no consideration at all. Music and TV always blasting. If he wore a hearing aid, I might be able to understand...this guy was in his mid-thirties.
After an incident that was the straw that broke the camel's back, I asked for the number of the company that owned the complex, ----- and ------ refused to provide me with their information. I obtained it on my own. Despite all of the problems that we were having with neighbors, their constant lack of consideration and the fact that the lease even requires other tenants to not disturb their neighbors, management told me that I would be in breach if I left. I told them that they were in breach for not enforcing the terms of their own lease. There are some other facts that I am leaving out as to what they did.
After I left, they tried to collect the remainder of the rent for the year including damages. However, the appliances were there for years and the carpet was crap when I moved in yet they wanted money for new appliances and carpeting.
Then they hired a collection agent to go after me. Instead of having to go through all of the BS i told them to keep my security deposit. Despite that, it then went to a lawyer. When I told the lawyer, after I did my homework on landlord tenant law what they did, such as entering the apartment when I was not there, to take photographs, his tune changed. Looks like he probably told them to shut up and keep the deposit. I never heard from any of them again.
For the size, amenities and price, keep your money and go to Knollwood if you truly want to live in Wallingford and cannot afford to buy a home. The staff there are far superior to the ones at Southwind when I was there.
Remember, there is apartment life and tenements. The choice is yours.
Happy mousehunting!!
