We moved to Loomis Manor for a medical residency at a prominent Hartford Based Hospital and have to say that the location is ideal, the elementary school is very good, a safe neighborhood close to downtown, these attributes, unfortunately are not to the merit of the property but to it's location and the West Hartford public school system. Mice/rats are also residents many times we found mouse droppings amongst our silverware, there is as well as a wide variety of insect life, that seems capable of findings their way into the refrigerator. The property management and owners simply milk the property and tenants for every cent they can and are not interested in reinvesting and improving the infrastructure, things are pretty much the way they were back in the 1940's when the place was built, with addition of some new paint. Unfortunately paint doesnt remove pests, mold, mildew, replace water damaged walls, floors, ceilings etc.. The 2 man maintenance team is over worked and underpaid and provide patch jobs when they eventually make it around. One week after we moved in we noticed dry wall in our food and discovered that over the stove part of the dry wall was leaking, their response, throw a little caulk on it. Many times after showering upstairs we would find water in the kitchen, when told about it maintenace tightened a couple of fastenings that did absolutely nothing. We moved out 2 months ago and know they did not replace the mold infested floor/ceiling where this unexplained water leak was taking place for 3 years, they plastered and painted and my heart goes out to the unsuspecting tenant that may have asthma, or may develop it. Please explain to me what the h#@l is a move in fee' After paying damage, and one months in advance we were hit with this little $250 dollar beauty, expect hidden fees if you move here!! All in all, not worth the rent.

All that the reviewer said above is true (alas). In addition, there have been 3 break-in burglaries on this street so far this summer!
