Nothing Special

Walden Apartments turned out to be an average place to live at best. Ill give you a list of the pros and cons:

Pros:
The landlord was a really cool guy, down to earth, and was always really friendly. He seemed to be pretty lenient about getting rent money, and if you were a day or two late he didn't really care.
The grounds were always trimmed, looked nice and were adjacent to the woods with a brook running through the middle. A really pretty area.
Trash was always picked up on time. Snow removal was always done in a timely manner.
Dishwasher, disposals, and plumming were all great. Never had any problems with maitnance

Cons:
This place is DARK. The shadows from the woods made the whole apartment dark all the time. You could never get any sunlight.
People are mean. Noone even said hi to each other the entire time. I made zero friends while living there.
Crazy parties over the weekend, which can get really annoying after a while.
Walls and floors are paper thin. Sounded like a heard of elephants above us all year long.
The parking lot is a MESS. There are areas where you have to do a 7-pt turn to get out of it. Most of the cars (mine included) were hit at some point during the year. Take a walk down the parking lot and just look at how many cars have scratches and dents.
The interior of the apartment was pretty crappy. Carpet had permanent stains, and were always dirty. The bathrooms had mold, medicine cabinets came off its hinges, toilets would break sometimes. Lights flickered before they stayed on.
Electric bills run REALLY HIGH because all utilties are electric. This becomes a huge problem because the windows let in a huge draft of freezing cold air into the apartment.

Overall, although there were a bunch of minor problems, Walden served me well for the year I was there. It definately wasnt a palace, but we never had any huge reason to complain, and I always felt safe no matter what time I was coming back to the complex. Wouldnt highly recommend it, but its definately not the worst thing out there.
