If you can put up with funky hallway carpeting (carpeting is fine in rooms), international hallway smells (smells are sometimes fine in rooms), linty ventilation (in rooms) and an overall "SHINING" like feel (weird historical feel), you will find your time at 1500 Mass very pleasant. The location is prime, the rent is very reasonable, and the management staff are good people. I moved in a couple years ago with very low expectations and I have been pleasantly surprised. It's not home, but for me it has been a safe, clean and comfortable environment to lay my head while working in DC. Expect some noise as this building is in a downtown/city environment. The people in the building are nice: There's families, young 20 somethings from various backgrounds and some who have lived here a really long time. I haven't seen any trouble nor have I seen bug/rodent infestations as I expected prior to moving in (being in the downtown area). Overall, 1500 provides a great opportunity to be a part of the DC community in more ways than one. If you can get in, I'd say, "go for it!"
