1500 is a great overall value for its location. But like any big building in a large city, you will always have some issues associated with the demographics who live in the building.

Good things:

Location, building is solid, apartments are spacious, and rent is cheap. This building is literally close to anything that matters when you live in DC: close to several metro stops, close to both the Safeway and Whole foods and walking distance to the White House and monuments.

Bad things:

Management is inconsistent. They tend to overlook certain issues, that if dealt with, would improve the quality of life in this building, such as overcrowding by immigrants, pest control and noise.

Tips: Be nice to management no matter how incompetent you perceive them to be, as if you are labeled a "trouble maker" you will always be at the bottom of the list when it comes to service requests. Also, keep detailed record of your rent payments. Some years ago the bookkeeper embezzled and covered up her deeds by putting many renters as delinquent with their rent.
