A mixed review ---

The first thing to know is that this building is an interesting contrast because it houses LOTS of college undergraduate students along with older professional people. The rent is not inexpensive (anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 depending on size). One would not think that undergraduates could afford it, but apparently the lack of decent-quality or economical college housing has forced many students to resort to commercial apartment buildings. Being teenagers and early 20-somethings, the college students are age-appropriately rude and equally empty-minded. Don't ever expect one of them to hold open a door even when you are walking right behind them. They monopolize the upstairs grills, workout facilities and the computer/office equipment. The students also have many, many friends who simply walk in the security behind someone else even though they do not actually reside here. You can never be quite sure whether it is a resident or a "friend" who is following you in the door. Occasionally, an evening of inebriation leads to damaged drywall and carpets in the hallway. This is all quite surprising for rents of $5,000 per month.

Secondly, be wary of the apartments that face the corner of 24th and M street. Nighttime noise is tremendously loud. The windows are extremely thin and cheap, and the street intersection surface is in bad shape. When construction or trash trucks come rumbling through at 3 a.m., you may actually think that you are directly beneath a bombing run of B-24 bombers. The apartments facing the inside of the courtyard are likely much quieter.

On the good side, the kitchen and laundry appliances are decent-quality. The front-desk staff folk are always friendly and helpful.
