Alcazar Apartments

Lucky Find From: downtownblue Date posted: 1/13/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   In reviewing the other comments, I felt I should add my own. While I won't try to say I think the other comments are incorrect (and those are their experiences, not mine), my take is much more positive. Truth be told, the building was recently renovated and thus, the comments of 2006 are not indicative of the building now. The elevators are great, there are working fire alarms (as I've been through one alarm already because of 4am toast making)... To the positives, the french doors and layouts are great. The location is unbeatable and particularly for the rent. Right in the heart of Adams Morgan with the 42 line that connects you to Dupont and beyond. It's also lively all week long, unlike many places in this city. The neighbors are wonderful and those who have been living here a while are the warmest people you will meet. The management has gone through several changes. While I think the management company leaves something to be desired, Meagan (the company's rep) has made a sincere attempt at bringing a friendly face and has been very gracious and helpful. The negatives are present as well. My biggest complaint is that my apartment and I will assume those in the inside do not receive a lot of day light (mainly from 8am through 12n). It would be nice to have a view. I admit i have seen a few roaches (3 to be exact in my 6 months here). I would not say there is an infestation of mice or roaches as I've only had three critters to my experience but I do think there are opportunities in this building. The management also sends monthly crews through the building to pro-actively rid ourselves of pests but I've never actually seen someone come... Just notes left about.
