I'm moving to DC for grad school and am using this site in order to find out more information on apts. in and surrounding DC. My response is not in regard to the Avalon at Foxhall necessarily, but rather to the absurd comment that this poster could not find an apartment in Houston for that price that was under 600 sq. ft.

Where in the world where you looking to live' In some ultra-posh luxury loft downtown that caters to beautiful botox people with an $80K Merecedes and a Pomeranian pooch named Zsa-Zsa' Houston is (to my knowledge) THE least expensive large city to live in in the United States. I should know: I was raised here and have been living here for 2 years since I graduated college. We have a 1-br/1-bath apartment in a 3-yr old complex, in a very nice area of town, for $825. That was with a discount; the original price was just over $1000 a month. Not cheap, but by my math calculations, it's cheaper than this place. And our place here is considered a nice luxury complex. You probably were looking for a place to live with Daddy Warbucks and Muffy (or Zsa-Zsa, whatever you named that yip-yapper). If that's the case, sorry to say, we would look like we're from Skid Row to you.

Anyway, just wanted to make sure that people knew the actual facts about Houston living and they understood that, from my research, the Avalon at Foxhall is priced competitively with other places in DC. And Buffy - I hope you pick your little yapper's pomeranian biscuits up when you go to the parks here.
