Pay heed to the commenter's review below. Avalon paid no attention to basic safety when they remodeled last year. There are NO sprinklers anywhere and electrical wiring is old, overburdened and worn throughout, which probably led to the fire last night. Now we can expect the Stepford management to conceal or misrepresent the true cause and the dangerous condition of the building. The FD report on the fire's cause will probably be publicly available upon request, but don't expect management to share it. These conditions have got to be a breach of the implied warranty of habitability in every lease under DC law. Yet we'd bet they extract every penny they can from those seeking to terminate early because it's so dangerous.
