Look elsewhere, too many better options in the area. I plan to do so when my lease expires.

The Avalon crew does an excellent job at boasting what they have to offer, but clearly fall short of delivering the goods. Miah (sp') the building manager (so goes her title) is a nasty, tormented woman who lives to hate. I have never in my life seen an unhappier woman and it shows in her work and attitude towards others.

Much of what you read here is true, with the exception of the AU students I have never had issues with any of the students residing here. Students are students, regardless where they choose to attend.

What is lacking are the basics one would expect in any apartment complex especially an expensive one. Just this week (6/4-8/2007), not to mention other varied weeks - intermittent hot water, at best. Apartment heat, or lack there of this winter never could coax the temperature above 58 degrees for a while. Finally fixed. (Maintenance does try.)

Hardly ever any constant usable wireless Internet access at best available for a day or two and then weeks without.

Constant warnings and bulletins slipped under doors, one recent issue related to clear and present fire danger especially from resident smokers who throw their butts from their outside balconies - yet they (Avalon) uses a plant mulch, which they readily admit is highly flammable.

Swimming pool rules that one would need to hire a lawyer to read, the pool is more of a hassle than its worth and best avoided.

Parking is a nightmare unless you are an employee or a diplomat, then you can park wherever and whenever you d like, including handicapped spaces.

All said and done look around, sooner or later you will avoid this place sooner is preferable.
