The building, while not the most fancy building in Dupont, is extremely well-kept, very clean, neighbors are respectful, and apartments are a good value.
While the leasing company (William C Smith) is a bit of a faceless bureaucracy, and I had minor problems when originally leasing the place (they gave the apartment that I thought I had reserved to someone else), I have had no problems whatsoever since. The staff that works in the building (resident manager and upkeep staff) are great and friendly.
The building is a mix of students, young professionals, and older people who have lived here forever. The lobby is sort of the 1950s (cleanly) preserved in time. The hallways are not fancy, but theyıre never dirty and do not have the typical stench of DC apartment buildings. All utilities are included, with self-controlled A/C in each unit. While the bathrooms tend to be a bizarre gold/black combination, each apartment has wood floors and large windows. Noise from neighbors is almost never a problem, street noise isnıt a problem for those used to city life.
Itıs 2 blocks from Dupont Circle metro, you can walk anywhere downtown, to Adams-Morgan, Logan Circle, and Georgetown is an easy walk. The building offers no parking, but once you learn the tricks of the neighborhood, you can do it. If you have to drive every day, it will become a bit of a pain--but you can generally leave your car on the street and only have to move it once a week. The building is wired for Starpower--not having to deal with Verizon/Comcast is reason enough to live here.
If you want to live in Dupont, and are looking for a good value, Iıve had nothing but good experiences.
