Stay away - Cockroaches!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/31/2004
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I´ve lived here since 2003 and will be moving out as soon as my lease is up. I´ve had (as have several adjoining apartments) cockroaches since November which seem to go away for a week or two after the exterminator visits and then come back.
Its street parking for visitors, and one of my friends who parked under a street light had her car broken into - cd player and airbags stolen.
It´s noisy because of all the undergrads who live here. If you are a graduate student, or a young professional, find someplace quieter and with more adults who understand what its like to be on their own for longer than since they moved out of the dorms. People are loud in the hallways even on Monday nights/Tuesday mornings at 1am.
The maintenance staff is nice. There is one rude front desk lady, but everyone else is fine. They respond promptly except for the exterminator, who comes once a week.
I can hear all of my neighbor´s conversations, movies, video games thru the wall, and the tenant upstairs as well.
The nice thing about the Berkshire is the overpriced grocery store/dry cleaner/video rental.
