An overall pleasant experience

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2001
Lived here with my husband and year-old son from 2000 - 2001. Extremely convenient in that it was within walking distance of Tenleytown, AU, bus stops, Giant, and a really nice and quiet neighborhood, which was stroller-friendly. The apartment itself was large and airy, maintenance was good, the front office staff were nice (some more than others!); general services, like postage, were great.
Down sides' Drunken students yelling in the middle of the night, false fire alarms (one on the night of the Super Bowl final in 2001!), roaches, and the visit of a particularly large rodent on the night of the NBA finals! Noise carries really easily - we had to contend with extraordinarily amorous neighbors in the wee hours of the morning every other night!
Expensive, but hey - it's the heart of NW DC!
