I'm miserable

You should by all means stay away from this building. The management rents primarily to undergraduates and DOES NOT enforce any of the rules and regulations. It is incredibly loud, there are fire alarms at least once a week and always in the middle of the night. If you live towards the front of the building the noise from the street and the drunk college kids will disturb you.
It is nearly impossible to get any rest. If you are an AU graduate student, stay away. Pay the extra money or suffer the commute. The air conditioning only runs when the temperature is at a certain degree therefore it is way too hot in the fall and you can't do anything about it. The Berkshire is purely a cash cow for management by renting to rich undergradutes who lack any sort of maturity. They could care less about their tenants. My move in was a nightmare - several problems that took forever to fix.
