Rent was well below others in the area, and it is clean and safe. Area is GREAT, especially if you don't have a car - two groceries and everything else you need in easy walking distance or via the nearby Metro. I'd recommend it if you need an inexpensive, not fancy place. We had some problems with the floor (peeling/flaking coating) and some of the fixtures, but I think they are upgrading the apartments as people leave - we were there for about 7 years. Overall, we feel lucky to have had a bright (entire wall of windows over 17th street), safe place while we lived in DC for well below the cost of other apartments in the area. Management of the place definitely went up a notch when the new manager took over, so that is a plus if you're moving in now.
