If you find yourself using encouraging words to describe this place, you should seek counseling. I am sure this would be considered paradise in Tijuana, however, in DC, you are better off living in Anacostia. This place is by far one of the most disgusting apartments I have ever seen. It smells like a landfill (no lobby remodeling can tame this odor) and of course the elevators never work. I was told that the management was going to replace the two nasty ones, but hey, they are probably too busy buying drugs on the 7th floor. There are active narcotics operations in this building and I disagree with the prior posts stating security does nothing but watch tv and use the phone. Did we forget obtaining free samples of cocaine. Prostitutes are here, but I am sure management feels they add charm. If you want to save money on an apartment, buy a cardboard box. Chances are it will smell better and you will enjoy the experience. If, however, after this you still want to live in this place, then make sure you put 911 on speed dial. Enjoy

I couldn't have said it better myself. Your words are poetry. Burke Park is the unequivocal armpit of downtown dc. Living in this tenement for the past year has been by far one of the worst mistakes I ever made. Aside from such squalid living conditions, my car has been raped three times. Gracias Burke Park!
