Years at this apartment: 1992 - 2002
Rent controlled but parking prices have shot up between 1998 and 2003. Now $120/mo. for an indoor space.
No resident-manager. Poor attention to the little things that make a homey atmosphere.
Metro station is across the street. Many good restaurants within a block. Brand new grade school within a block. Rock Creek Park two blocks. National Zoo a ten minute walk.
Very busy commercial neighborhood. The zoo attracts a huge crowd that creates litter, street vendors and jammed sidewalks. Adjacent to Major convention hotels that generate tremendous truck and bus noise. Once in a while there are unauthorized street demonstrations in the area spawned by conventions or presidential visits.
