A good deal for the price

I lived here for a couple of years, and generally had a good experience. It's not a modern building, so things are clean but not fancy or terribly up-to-date. For example, the kitchen is very average in terms of appliances, the building-wide HVAC tends to falter in high heat conditions, and the vertical blinds can drive you crazy when it's breezy out. But the apartment I had was spacious, the floors were in good shape (a miracle considering what happens to parquet over time), I could walk into each of the three closets, and I had a fantastic view. Oh, and I could almost jump out my window and land in the Metro station next door. And walk to Adams-Morgan easily without having to live there. The corner is busy, so you'll hear lots of sirens, and parking can get hairy on weekends (unless you fork over another $150/month or so for your own in the building). But the staff are pleasant and you get to know them over time. Bottom line: a few complaints but no regrets.
