I've been at the Calvert House since last year. I agree with other commenters that it is spacious and does not have a lot of loud parties going on. There is, however, construction happening at the Woodley Park Marriot - the North facing apartments are treated to a construction symphony (including a number of manly arguments) from 7:00 am to as late as 11:00 PM EVERY DAY of the week. I hope and assume that this is temporary. Even without the construction, there are often loud and early deliveries (back-up truck beeps, clangs of dropped things, employee shouting) that I hear. I wonder how the Hotel keeps its guests happy with all this noise.

As to the kitchens - I don't know why someone would rate them at a ghetto level. Perhaps not all the kitchens are the same' Mine is adequate - neither disgusting nor lovely. I've also never seen any evidence of roaches. The bathrooms in my place are also adequate but definitely run down with cracked (and filled) tiles, old vanities, etc. Once again, I would not call them disgusting - though I'm sure that Paris Hilton would indeed balk at the appointments.
