I lived in the Cambridge from June 2003 until June 2005. I do not think that I could have discovered a more wonderful living accommodation. In addition to its excellent location (virtually metro/walking accessible to any place in the city), the Cambridge offers a warmth that I just do not think you will find in other buildings.

The staff always made an extra special effort to welcome you and assist you with any of your residential needs. If you ever decide to visit the Cambridge, I would strongly encourage you to meet Kenny, a member of the Cambridge staff beloved by everyone in the building. It's not just about being there to help you fix your kitchen sink or adjust your air conditioning--like Kenny, the rest of the Cambridge staff always made it their responsibility to, first and foremost, make your stay pleasant and friendly. And that really means a lot, especially after a very stressful day at the office.

I also really appreciated the extraordinary diversity of the residents in the building. You'll have really wonderful neighbors, from young professionals fresh out of college/grad school to residents who have virtually made the building their permanent home for years. Everyone seemed to get along amicably, as many residents often socialized with each other at the rooftop pool (a must during the summer) or at the annual holiday party (another classic).

The lobby really looks beautiful and, although the apartments are not the most modern, they continue to hold up well. I never had any maintenance problems in the entire two years that I lived there.

Overall, I really loved this place. If I ever made it back to DC, I have no doubt that I would live at 1221 Mass. Ave. Visit the place, and see for yourself.
