Nothing recommends Capitol Park. It is a privatized housing project exempt from rental regulations because of DCHFA financing. A great rental building is now a ghetto.

The new (2003) owners are just looking for low income housing tax credits and do not care about the residents. Customer service is nonexistent. Edgewood Management Company took over as managing agent a year ago, and they are nasty and pitiful.

The buildings are flithy, lawless, dangerous and open 24/7 to the street. Find someplace else to rent.

I love this place. These people are disgruntled about life, in general. Great location with reasonable prices.

Notice how the same person keep posting these glowing reports about this place? You do the math. Capitol park Plaza is a disgrace and exhibits the lowest side of the ugliest underbelly of mankind I have ever witnessed in my life. Disgruntled? Yeah, I guess having to leave with crack addicts, prostitutes, drug dealers and mentally ill people who light the building on fire with alarming regularity, urine soaked in elevators that are well past their inspection dates, nasty attitudes on the part of Management, and their utter lack of interest to correct any of these problems does make me disgruntled, but it doesn't make me crazy enough to stay here. Get out while you can, people couldn't make it down the stairs after the latest fire, set by a mentally ill woman, who told building management of her intentions before she set the fire. If you're going to run a housing facility for mentally ill people, have a responsible mental health provider on site. They have NO shame. Glad I don't have to face my maker like they will have to. Armaggedonouttahere and so should you!
