This used to be a nice old building; the apartments are well laid out with lots of storage, there were a lot of good people here, and the location is great.

When new owners took over in 2002, they began doing everything they could to destroy everything that was good here. Basic maintenance and security have all but disappeared, prostitutes and beggars wander the halls and crack houses operate with impunity, while the management company tells us they're trying hard to improve customer service.

We've had to put up with renovations that made things far WORSE, maintenance men and contract workers who enter our apartments whenever they want and don't even lock the doors when they leave, a number of arsons management doesn't seem to care very much about, no elevators for more than 2 years at one end of the building...well, you get the idea. And to top it off, our rents have increased 12% per year since the new owners took over.

This had been a great place to live. We do still have some wonderful people here, but more and more have given up and moved out.

I wouldn't really mind paying the higher rent if I were getting something in return, if the renovations were actually improvements. But these people keep demanding more and more from us without giving anything in return.
