My lease in up in July and I can't wait to get the heck out of this apartment complex. I feel that the 201 I St building is alot cleaner than the 101-103 G St Twin--though that is not saying much!!! When I visited the complex before I moved in they would only show me an apartment in 201 I St and though it is still pretty drab and outdated, it still did not look as bad as the "Twin Towers". Basically everything that everyone else has said about this complex is true. There are some normal people that live in the complex, but 90 percent of the residents are crack heads, prostitutes or mental patients and the security guards are afraid of everyone and everything. Maintenance is worthless and management is illiterate, ignorant and unresponsive to any issues you may have. When I moved in everything possible was wrong with my apartment. Last night, I heard someone trying to open my front door!!! Also, one time someone knocked on my door at 7 am to ask for a slice of bread !!! Do not move here for any reason.

Thank you for all the truths! I was just there this afternoon and I was there on Saturday looking to rent. I'm "market" value so I would have to pay the higher rent ($80 too much/year!) They also showed me the 201 I apt; and the one I would be renting is in the Twins--did I forget to mention there was a fire today in the Twins so I couldn't view the apt. they were suppose to show me and another potential tenant. I'm glad I've read these reviews from before and after new management. I'm heading for another apartment complex. Note: Affordabe Housing is a good thing for all races and all walks of life--that are decent and hardworking people. I keep reading the word "ghetto"...remember there can always be a diamond in the rough! I also read the comment about "people from the north" may be okay with this type of living--wrong--I'm a NYer relocated to DC and we too want decent, clean and "affordable" places to live. So everyone, don't get it twisted...people that decide to live "ghetto style" it's their choice...remember you can't buy class! Good luck and thanks again for the inside view! Peace. |
