Its not the Apartment building itself, but the people in it!!

I have lived in the building (201 I Street) for 3 years now, and I must say it was a really nice place. The aparments themselves are really nice; the renovations (new stove, dishwasher, new cabinets, sink, new bathroom sink, toilet, recaulked tub, new windows, controlled a/c and heat, etc.) have really made it nice. HOWEVER... the quality of people that live here has taken a turn for the worse. It seems as if they let anyone off the street come in and take residence here. Sometimes, I really worry about my safety in the apartment. All of the fires, drugs, prostitution, suicide (a guy committed suicide on the 3rd floor a few months ago), and murder (someone was killed a few weeks ago in the projects on 3rd street) have caused me to look for other places to live. I really love the convenience and all, but safety will always be #1 priority. If you're reading this and considering capitol park, I would leave this place as a last resort. Until they get rid of some of the Section 8 residents (I'm not saying all sec 8 residents are bad.. but I have to admit, much of the trouble started when the apartment starting admitting them), druggies, and prostitutes, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
