I HAVE HAD IT!

If you want a slumlord living environment, I would highly suggest these apartments. I choose these apartments in Feb 02 due to their location to my work near the Hill and the Metro lines, as well as the halfway acceptable rent prices with utilities included, but I have been nothing but frustrated with management's lack of care for my vaild complaints and my quality of living. The on-site manager is very unpleasant when you call to discuss your concerns, and the majority of the staff just do not know what is going on or do not care. Security guards are nice people but lax. I pay $55/mo for parking, yet the gates are frequently broken and hanging open. The laundry facilities flood often, and roaches were a major issue during the summer months, as well as when I moved in. The water has been turned off at least once a week in the past few months with less than a 24 hour notice. They are doing major renovations on the buildings and apartments, which are sorely needed, but with no rent break for putting up with the construction, and, indeed, little warning or explaination as to what to expect or when to expect it. Those tenants with a below median income were given the opportunity to fill out paperwork for a rent break this coming January, but those who make just a little too much (like myself)are getting no considerations. I don't know what the management plans to do with this information, but I have been left with no rent break while my neighbors are being compensated. And meanwhile, I am expected to live in my unit while they completely take out my kitchen cabinets, my toilet, my windows, drill and repair my balcony and re-do the heating and A/C system in the unit (with construction during the holiday season, no less). While all these renovations are badly overdue, I cannot see how management expects me to live in a construction zone. I don't know weather to move out or cry from frustration. Or both. They have made me feel like I have no right to try to make my apartment a home.
