This wasn't too bad a place to live. For someone who had just moved to the District from a pretty country place, I thought it was ok. Good parts...convenient to two metro stops, grocery store, waterfront, and downtown DC. Rent was affordable, parking plentiful. Big bathrooms, balconies, and great views. Police were always cruising up and down I street.
Bad parts...Nightly battles with superroaches, which ended once the exterminator came. They still frequented the laundry room. I had a mouse too...who was a lot different than the country mouses I was used to, which actually run from you when you come into a room. This one stared at me like I was trespassing on his territory. But I showed him who was boss. Nightly sirens...but you learn to sleep through them. The month before I left, there were increased instances of muggings in the area. And somehow I kept receiving bills for rent for two months after I moved out and it was a major hassle dealing with the management to resolve it.
Overall, it was ok for the price and convenience.
