301 G Street has not fallen apart

I don't think 301 G Street, Capitol Park Towers, changed ownership. The "Capitol Park Twin Towers" at 101-103 G Street and the "Capitol Park Plaza" at 201 I Street changed ownership in the fall of 2002. I think most of these reviews refer to the two buildings that changed ownership.

301 G Street is adequate housing, and has been since I moved there in 1998, and I've never had major complaints. Yes there used to be a bug problem. Yes the elevators are slow. Yes there are not enough dryers. Yes there are few decent restaurants within walking distance. Yes the cost of my rent controlled apartment is being jacked up as fast as possible. But I've never seen a rat inside, or drugs or prostitutes. The building is quiet and conveniently located. I don't talk much to my neighbors because I'm rarely home but they seem nice.

I lived there for years. It started out as a pretty nice building with a great location close to the Capitol and numerous Federal agencies. Unfortunately, by virtue of owners who didn't care about the maintaining the property, the condition of the building and property steadily went down hill with increasing numbers of serious problems going unsolved and increasing numbers of tenants who were barely beyond the street person stage. Evictions often consisted of throwing their personal items off the balconies onto the parking lot below. Moved out in 2002 with rats in the walls, uncontrolled insect infestations, and rising rents. Someone needs to buy that building, gut it to make major renovations, and then put it back on the market. Otherwise, it will just turn into a high-rise slum and end up being torn down to make room for more condominiums.

nop. I'm now staying at this apartment. Now, I am now going to move another place. I got a lot of problem with the management and maintainance officer here. In example, since a month ago, I informed to the office - both to management and maintainace office - that the rats are often coming to our kitchen as there is a big hole in my kitchen, and another thing my dish-washer was not working since three weeks ago. though I asked them to repair it, they always say they will be coming soon - very soon - in a few minuites. But nothing yet. So i suggest you all plz consider to stay this apartment.
