Having lived in this building on three separate occasions, for periods of a year or two each, since 1980, I am surprised at the level of vitriol directed at current management. While the management company Pinnacle (') may be the latest of managers, how many people know the history of, and family-owned connection to, and dedication to, the graciousness of the building, from the architect who designed the building, to the ongoing concern over the outer apprearance of the green-blue windows, --and deep personsal care for--this landmark building.

Yes, one or two "ethnic" cooking smells are detectable from time to time. Yes, for a few minutes, or even a few hours, each day, there are certain residents whose tastes may irritate other residents.

These incidnets, however, are the exception, by far. In a community of 500 or so units, the common features area peace and quiet, courtesy, rapid and effective reponse to maintanence issues, and a general feeling of security.

Some residents have been here for 35 years. Given the location next to Russia Embassy (Soviet during my first time around) compound, it is no surprise that certain threories exist about the composition of the tenant population. I have no opinion about the appropriateness of certain comments, pro or con.

The building management does not tolerate deviation from noise, odor, or other high standards (specified in the lease) contributing to not only legally required "quite enjoyment" (an often misconstrued legal concept), but actively ensures, from the front office, management office, and maintenance staff (whose leadership goes back almost as far as the building itself) that all tennants are afforded equal comfort.

The building is not Trump Tower. It is, however, safe, secure, reasonably priced, prominently located, and superbly staffed.
