Slightly Below Average

I'm living in this apartment complex currently and have been for the past year. The wear and tear begins to show in the shower drainage, cheap kitchen counters, walls, accustomized noise from the tv next door, and mysterious bass from a phantom apartment on another side of the wall.
But The Carillon House is just average (or maybe a little below) - it's not terrible, it's not wonderful.
Negatives: thin walls, cheap, stain-prone kitchen counters, propensity of floors to gather dust, laundry room, lax management, location away from metro station, terrible heating in winter
Positives: rent price, view, quiet neighbors on one side (as it so happens), location near grocery store and Massachusetts Avenue
Somewhere in this review I'm trying to place "immigrants"; but unlike others posting here I don't harbor negative feelings towards people who cook with a few extra spices (except when I feel like I'm eating it myself, but then I attribute blame to the cooking rather than their "immigrant"-ness).
