I have been searching around in the NW area for over a month but couldn't find a reasonable priced decent apartment. I have a friend living here so I thought to check. So I moved in Sept 07. The location is fantastic. I love Georgetown and it's a short walk for me. (well, I consider 30 minutes short) imagine you don't have to take your car to go to Georgetown... I am very impressed that there are 6 bus lines right in front of the building... The maintanence crew are so responsive and fast. I couldn't believe they fixed things within one hour of putting a request in. I don't have cell phone issues as some of other residents do. (I live on 7th floor, facing Calvert street) I am so happy that I don't have to get a landline as an extra cost. The staff are very helpful. Sharon and Catherline are very accommodating. Jim is also very resourceful.

The only things I wish could be better are, the HVAC project is taking way too long. On the notice, they said it's going to take 6 weeks, but 3 months went by, my HVAC unit was still left open. I talked to the management a few times and finally it was done. But I think it's just because they hired the wrong contractor. The contractors are REALLY bad. They came in and just did 5 minutes work and they left, with everything open. And they came back after a few weeks, did another 5 minutes of work and left again. Leaving my apartment white covered by dust, HVAC unit open. It's very frustrating. They also did a bad job. After they finished the work, they left a hole in the dry wall, partially covered the thermomitor, leaving untidy paints everywhere. I really wish the management would fire them and get a new contractor...

The hallway door/wall is not well designed. I hear people walking, talking, slamming doors in the hallway all the time. I think the problem is the door. The should replace the door. All the cooking smell, smoke coming into the apartment from the unsealed door all the time. I asked the management to install weather seal on the door. And the smell problem solved.

I also hear my upstair neighbor walking all the time. And she wears high heel 24/7...

why don't you put in a request to replace them? I don't hear anything from my window...
