I have lived at Carver Terrace for 5 months and totally agree with some of your comments. When I moved in there were several things wrong in my apartment and I was promised that they would be fixed by the end of the day. For two weeks the I had to hound the rental office to make the repairs. Being a strong independant woman who's very handy, I wound up fixing a lot of the problems myself. I have only noticed 1 mouse since I 've been here and there are very few roaches. I thank God for that. I am a very very avid cleaner so maybe that has something to do with it. As far as section 8, I wish I could get a voucher but I can't. There is no reason to be mistreated because you have a voucher. My biggest concern is the unsupervised children and the trash that their parents allow them to throw on the property. This is where you live. You should take pride in it and keep it clean. There is absolutely no reason why the maintenance man has to clean that much trash everyday. You do not see that trifling behavior in other parts of the city, why do it here. I DO NOT allow my children to go outside without my supervision. You need to watch your children more carefully. There are a lot of pedophiles out here. The news just reported today that the zip code 20002 has an abundance of registered sex offenders. My children are in bed by 9PM. Most of the children in my court are outside unsupervised until at least 10-10:30 PM. I know they do not do any homework, because they are always outside. When do they have the time' The door to my building has glass that has been kicked out by these unruly children. Lastly, I also agree on the problems with maintenance. My power went out every day for about 4 days straight. Mind you I have a sleeping disorder and two asthmatic children. I sleep with a machine and my children take breathing treatments. I had DJ paged and he never even called or showed up until 8:00 the next morning when I was on my way to work. Not only do we as tenants need to be more responsible, management needs to do better job. I have to hound them for repairs but if I pay my rent 1 day late they want to charge me a late fee.
