You really won't find a better deal in the area. Perfect for right out of college, especially if moving in with a significant other; safe neighborhood, near enough to central DC locations (Georgetown, Dupont, etc.) without being in the thick of it. Very easy commute to work with plenty of bus options, and metro is a 15 minute walk, hardly a sacrifice.

Front desk staff is great, for the most part. Everyone at least recognizes you, 24 hour service (definitely makes you feel safe).

It's absolutely accurate that it's a "no-frills" sort of place, but so what if you have to wash your own dishes' The noise is only a problem for the first few days. We purchased a standing fan to create white noise, and now we don't even notice traffic (except for fire enginges/ambulances- those can't be avoided!). Have heard some people have minor roach problems, but we have been here a year and haven't had an issue, and we know people who have been in the building for decades and have never seen one. It seems to correlate with how cleanly you keep your place.

If you are under the age of 30, you definitely do stand out like a sore thumb- people move here and stay here, but most are very friendly people.
