I had been a resident at for over ten years. I was not until MPM Management took over somewhere around 2000 that the building has done nothing but detoriate (rapidly). The Management office staff has turn over 3-4 times, each time they "renovate" the rental office. There is NO consistent security. MPM management did nothing but say they would be repairs, and did nothing but bandage the problem(s). The current management office staff did nothing but tell untruths, when asked about situations in the building. At one point, there were DCHA inspectors in the building on a daily basis -- YES--that many housing code violations. The actually units are very nice, but it was entirely too much $$$$$ to pay and have to walk over people to enter the building. Let me not forget to mention repairs -- I took weeks for minor repairs to me done. The management office alway had a excuse for why something did not get done as scheduled. I HAD ENOUGH.......

I am a long time tenant of Channel Square and have seen so many Property Managers come and go. I believe they are all trained by the same idiot they call a supervisor. I don't know what it will take to bring this slum landlord down. The building has more than enough housing code violations and they continue to get fined but NOTHING phases this slum landlord. The property has gone downhill over the years due to the incompetent managers and the neglect of the apartments as a whole. Everthing that you have read on the comments posted are absolutely true and it gets worse with time. Recently a security guard was jumped and put into the hospital and days later a dead body was dropped off in the parking lot. The previous manager Rosa was nice and did all she could to make it a better place but was fired through email by Judy Herrel who is such a white racist and has it out for all ------ who live there. The main focus is to not fix anything that breaks down but do cover up work. However if you are white you get everything new. Townhouse 1406 an Army brat had a capitol improvement in her townhouse i'm talking brand new appliances, new floors, paint the works and to top it off an electric stove. She is the ONLY person on the entire premises that has this and tenants are outraged because of it. Now their talking all this crap about a uniform look. Gimme a break. You can't have plants in the windows or anything viewable from the outside. However 1406 has a flag outside her door, planters on her stoop and on her patio she has patio furniture more plants and etc. Her home is anything but uniform but it's alright for her because she's white. As for the ------ and other non whites you get ridiculed and threatned with fines if you don't comply with the uniform look. This is all coming form Judy Herrel who manages Tiber Island and Carrollsburg. The building has a mold and rust problem that continues to decay. Mushrooms are growing in a lot of apartments. The townhouses have rodents. The new elevators that were put in break down and the license expired last year. If you move it's like watching paint dry to get your deposit back. Watch out!
