I have been living in the Chesapeake for about 6 months now, and haven't experienced any problems with either the living space or the management. It's relatively inexpensive for the Connecticut Avenue area, is really conveniently located, and Politics & Prose (the world's greatest bookstore) is right down the street. There's a Giant food market two blocks away, a Whole Foods market five blocks away, and Fort Reno (a gorgeous spot that hosts free summer concerts) is right around the corner. The apartments are big and the ceilings are high. You can only occasionally hear your neighbors, it's really a very quiet building considering that the occupants are mostly young professionals. Additionally, the fitness center is well-equipped, the staff is very friendly, and all utilities except electricity are included with your rent.
The neighborhood isn't exactly thrilling (it seems to be comprised of mostly families) but it's extremely safe for DC.
A really nice place to live.
