I was surprised to read a very poor review by another tenant because I have had an absolutely flawless experience living at the Chesapeake.
I love my apartment, which has lots of light and is both aesthetically pleasing and very functional; I always get compliments from guests. Moreover, I am very impressed with the turnaround whenever I have had things breakdown in the apt. When I compare with friends living in other apartment complexes in DC, I consider a one day response and repair is frankly exceptional.
The management team is also making an effort to make the tenants feel that they are part of a community, and help them meet each other: they organize BBQ/fundraiser for local nonprofit, bagels& coffee 1 Sat per month, and a fun newsletter. Frankly all this is not a priority for me but when it comes on top of what I described above, it is a pleasant add-on.
Things to improve: business center, which for a long time had no functioning printer, but is now fully functional; and a few bikes in the gymn, which also seem to have been repaired -after many months.
In short I would definitely recommend this place.
(PS: note that the rent quoted is for a monthly renewal after 2 years of yearly leases)

Sounds like this was written by management to me!

This was DEFINITELY written by management. It's the same lies they tell you to get you to sign a lease. Living in the Cheasapeake is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what this says. I've lived in apartments on Connecticut since 2001 and I can say without hesitation this is THE WORSE building management I have EVER come across. The building in no way meets the standards of Connecticut living. Whenever I see people looking at the Chesapeake I tell them to run, not walk away. The only tenants happy at the Cheasapeake are the roaches.

well, sorry to disappoint you, but I am NO management; if there was away to contact me offline, I would gladly tell you my apt number; there simply seems to be a high variability of experiences in these buildings, the Chesapeake and the Saratoga; if I hated it as much as you do, I would not write positive comments, but simply move out at the earliest opportunity, which I haven't done. And I met other neighbours who feel the same as I do.
hope this debate is useful to prospective tenants, one way or another.
Good luck on solving your problems.
