Strange plumbing problems where I have great shower water pressure but the toilets and all other drains in the place are constantly messed up. Bathtub and kitchen sink backs up regularly (with other people's dirty water).

Built in late 50s/60s and hasn't been renovated, hallways are kept tidy by residents but look worn.

Noise is a HUGE issue as you can pretty much hear everything your neighbors are doing/saying/music/tv and vice versa. My neighbors can hear my alarm clock in the morning and I don't want to even think about the other stuff...

The apartment is small but cute and looks over an empty lot that has been turned into a park and the location is wonderful... Safeway, little cafes, lots of street parking, and general safety issues are great. 15 min. walk to Friendship Heights metro or 20 min. walk to UDC.

Rent is great price, however, it goes up $50 to $75 every year so no rent control.
