The apartment served my roommate and me well. The two male front desk people are kind. If possible, deal with them, not the two older women. They are doing a bunch of renovations currently so by 2008 the place will be much nicer. They just finished the south building's laundry room and while it is very nice, it is a bit pricey (had been $1.50 a load and is now $1.65) and the machine you use to load your laundry card does not accept $1 bills or coins.

Parking can be difficult when school is in session. If you can arrive home before the commuter student get there for class or after they leave, you will not have as many issues. The building does have parking but it is an extra $175-$200 depending on the owner of the parking spot.

As this is a co-op, each apartment has its own landlord. Mine was not the greatest but I know some of the other landlords are nice people.

My roommate had a lawyer look over our lease before we moved in and she said it was the most restrctive lease she had ever seen. If repairs are needed for the apartment, make sure you have them on the lease before you sign it.

For maintainance, most landlords have a signed agreement with management allowing their tenents to make necessary repairs without contacting them. My landlord did not have this which caused issues simply because of his attitude. I don't think this is a reflection of the building as a whole.

We did not have any bug issues and overall, the year I spent here was a good one. The location is great because it is in walking distance to Georgetown, Dupont Circle and, when guests are in town, the monuments.

I would recommend this location to most people. But please keep in mind that it is near George Washington University and you will have many neighbors who are students. I am not a student and did not have any problems, but some of the older long-term residents have issues with this fact.

hey there, I was just reading your review and was quite interested as I just signed a lease for an apartment in the building. I read some of the older reviews and they were so negative that I'm now a bit nervous. Are the staff as rude as the other reviewers have mentioned? and did you experience bug problems?? Your advice would really help me out...thanks

Hopefully all of the rats and mice they have in the building will help control the bug problem. I currently live in the building and can't wait for my lease to expire. I have personally trapped 5 rats in this building and the management is unwilling/unable to do anything about it besides giving me more traps (they seem the think that I signed up to be an exterminator). You can hear the rats running and scratching in the walls, especially at night. In addition, I must confirm that the two women working at the front desk are horrible; their incompetence is only matched by their rudeness, and the management is aware of the situation but is unwilling to address it. It may be too late for anyone that signed a lease, but to everyone else - STAY AWAY FROM THIS F*@%ING BUILDING!!!
