Great Location-Nice New Renovations-Responsive In-house Maintenance Staff

I have lived at Claridge House for almost five years. The location is the best, in the heart of Foggy Bottom, with a 15 minute walk to Georgetown, a five minute walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro, ten minutes to the Kennedy Center or West End, and DuPont Circle is not that far. The new renovation is really first-class, with a new fitness center that is large and has many machines, a business center, an attractive lobby and they tell me a library-community room with wifi will be finished shortly. The streets feel safe late at night, and security in the building is great, with a 24 hour desk and a new security system with the renovations. The pool on the rooftop is maintained well and the views in every direction are nice, with the Potomac River the prettiest of all. I have found the in-house maintenance staff to be absolutely great - very responsive and I never had to wait more than a day or two for any repair that I asked for. I do not recognize the negative comments about staff in some of these reviews - perhaps somebody was having a bad day, or was sending out a bad vibe themselvs and got back what they were sending out in bad karma. (Smile.) Whatever the case, I think Claridge is one of the best buildings in about a six block radius - and I've looked at them all. Claridge is definitely better than the Monroe, since Claridge has the new renovations, the 24-hour desk and the pool, and Monroe has none of these, and even the Potomac Plaza, which is a nice building, but the location of PP is busier, whereas CH is on a quiet street with mostly row houses, which is a good feel. I think the quality/look inside the apartments themselves is variable, because mine is updated but some of my friends are not. I definitely like the South Building better because those apartments are larger than the North Building. All in all, I am enjoying my time in Foggy Bottom and that is in no small part because of the fact that Claridge House is a good base of operation for living in Foggy Bottom and downtown.
