Not for the price

I agree with the premious postings citing the many cons of the Cleveland House. I've only lived in the building 9 months, but the cost of living here is really quite exhorbitant when you take into account the high (and rising!) cost of doing laundry in the laundry room ($3.70 a load!), the fact that even guest parking costs you money ($10 a night and you have to reserve days in advance) to say nothing of the resident parking fiascoe, and a $10 a month fee for a telephone land line we don't have (!). Plus, just try getting the front desk to grasp the concept that to call me down/notify me of a visitor, they have to make a long distance call because--heaven forbid--I'm one of the millions of young people who only have a cell phone and no local number. Finally, despite online advertising claiming that the kitchens are 'well-appointed', I can testify to the fact that our kitchen might have been well appointed in the 1960s, but the metal cupboards and nasty countertops (one is wood, the other an extension of the kitchen sink) and cheaply installed vinyl flooring does not a pleasant kitchen make. The building is certainly liveable, and some of the staff are excellent, but the corporate management does not seem much conerned with residents' satisfaction. And my precious rental dollars will be finding a home in another buidling's coffers come the end of my lease this summer.
