Do NOT live here-- you'll regret it

This place is awful. It's a popular spot for college students who go to Catholic University, so if you're a student and can deal with noise and don't care much about where you live, this is a fine place. If you AREN'T a college student- this place is terrible.
MANAGEMENT- Worst I've ever had. The office doesn't respond to maintenance requests for days, when they have a "24-hour maintenance policy". I have been locked out before and had to call a locksmith since the maintenance guy never responded to my call. It took two weeks for them to replace my mailbox key after the box was damaged, so I had no access to my mail. I also asked four times to have an air filter replaced. They have serious attitude problems as well, and without saying names, the main office lady. She is the one that generally shows the apartments, and then is a complete snob the minute after the ink dries on the lease agreement. The property manager is a nice woman, but is obviously content with a terrible staff and way sub-par service. I also gave a sixty-day notice of moving out, and they told me I never did and had to pay a few extra months rent.
RODENTS- I lived on the top floor, and had a serious mice problem. How does this happen' Every resident had to clean out all of their closets, rooms, cabinets, etc so that maintenance can come in and fix the problem, but they wound up doing nothing.
SHOWERS- the showers in several apartments (including mine) started slowing down and eventually stopped working altogether. After weeks of complaining, it was finally fixed.
All-in-all-- do NOT move here. There are so many more things I can say here. People already mentioned the rats, which is disgusting and seem to be a foot long and roam the parking lot. The neighborhood is sketchy and generally a crap area to live in.
Bottom line-- you get what you pay for. They have decent rent for apartments in DC, but it's really more of a pain than anything else. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone besides students who don't care about living here seeing as it is close to campus.

So let me get this straight...you locked yourself out of your apartment and thought it was "fair" to call upon someone who is at home with his family (probably in bed or eating dinner) and YOU get pissed b/c he won't let you in?? God, what is happening to our world where we put blame and faults on other people for your own stupidity?? Take action into your own hands. Grow up...honestly...I can't beleive that was the first complaint you wrote about...I can't believe you are mad about it at all. trust me--they do not get paid overtime to let you "i forgot me key" in

To the person that responded to this post, do you work for them? Part of their job description, part of an agreement from a "24 hour maintenance staff" with a phone number for contacting maintenance in case of lockout (which is all over the documents provided when you first move in) is to provide what they promise. I get that this person is at home with his family, but it is his/her JOB when they decide to take on a JOB that puts them on 24-hour call. Or perhaps when it is their shift to take the late night. So don't sit there and yell at this poster for being stupid and not taking action into their own hands. Did you not see, they did? They followed protocol and when the management FAILED to provide the service they promise, they had to take another avenue. Oh, and the maintenance staff does get paid overtime to "let you 'i forget me key'" because that is their JOB.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet the person who first responded to this works for them. no one would defend such an awful place and management, with such conviction. My guess is you're one of the insane women who works in the leasing office. Don't tell me to grow up-- I'm 28 years old and have lived in several apartments in the past and haven't ever had such an awful experience with management.
