I've lived at the Cloisters for two years now. Living on the fourth floor, I've never had a problem with mice, rats or cockroaches. With one exception, if we have a maintenance problem, it is taken care of in 36 hours. Some of the staff are short-tempered, but the property manager is excellent. Not only will she help you out with anything, she'll work to the residents advantage. Just recently I had a problem where I wanted to re-lease my apartment, but due to an office error my name had never been put on the lease. Not only did the Property Manager (Connie) apologize, but she went on to give me an amazing deal. She really wants to help out her residents and treats students as though they are adults. Unfortunately some students don't understand that some things are legally out of her control so she gets a bad reputation. Trust me, she is very, very helpful and wants to help you.
Overall you get what you pay for here. It's an inexpensive place to live in DC. I know some people that have had problems, but generally they live in the basement/1st floor. My advice is get a higher apartment. I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it to any student!

This review is total BS posted by Connie or someone in the leasing office. I used to live on the 4th floor and my apartment was INFESTED with mice. The fact that the second sentence of this fake review mentions RODENTS should raise a HUGE red flag. DON"T MOVE TO THIS DUMP!

agreed, cessna! and i don't think anyone would say "maintenance requests taken care of in 36 hours". Really!? Definitely not the case. Check out the response to the post before this one and tell me that doesn't sound like something Nabiha would say. Isn't it an agreement that you can't post on here if you work there???
